The new Ford GT has turned a lot of heads with sleek looks and a massive amount of horsepower. However, reports indicate it will cost Ford dealers an extra $30,000 in service department upgrades to service the vehicle.

According to Road & Track, dealers who sell the new Ford GT have to spend at least $30,000 in order to be able to service the vehicles. Dealers will reportedly have to have a “clean room” available to service the GT, with only certified technicians and salespeople allowed inside during the repair process. Dealers who sell the $400,000 vehicle will also need to purchase a specialized trailer in order to pick up the vehicle from a customer’s home or place of employment and transfer it back to the dealership.

Only Ford Master Technicians will be allowed to do repairs on the 2017 Ford GT. Multimatic, the company who builds the GT, will teach those master techs how to repair the vehicle. If repairs become complex, an employee from Multimatic would reportedly be sent to the dealership or the vehicle would be sent to the Multimatic facility in Ontario, Canada.
